Alfonsas Eidintas proposed as Lithuania's ambassador to Greece

Diplomat Alfonsas Eidintas has been proposed to head Lithuania's diplomatic mission in Greece.

Under a draft prepared by the Foreign Ministry, the diplomat should be appointed as of 3 September.

Eidintas, 60, has served as Lithuania's ambassador to the United States, Canada, Israel, and Norway. He is a historian and has authored a number of books.

Under Lithuanian laws, ambassadors are appointed by the President upon the government's nomination.
